Anyone else think this is funny? I thought it was a great, warm acknowledgement of Keef’s status as one of the few living legends of rock’n’roll left. Esp now that his hero Chuck Berry is no longer with us. Somehow, I can’t imagine anyone bothering to write the same sort of thing for Jagger.

    This spoof ‘story’ is headlined:

Keith Richards Never Had To Throw A Flat Screen TV Out Of His Hotel Window

“Commenting on the challenges facing wanna-be Rock’n’Roll legends these days, veteran roadie Dave Griffin reflected on a ‘”simpler time’ when you didn’t need ‘a goddamn ladder’ to reach the telly.”

I thought it was fantastic anyway. It’s not a rock’n’roll site but they have two other good music ‘stories’. The first is ‘Medical Card Will No Longer Cover ‘Pain Of The Blues’. (In Europe, a medical card is a medical insurance scheme). It’s a pisstake of Irish rocker Rory Gallagher’s cover of ‘Bullfrog Blues’. (Trivia footnote: true stones fans will know that Gallagher was ‘interviewed’ by Keith for the job of Mick Taylor’s replacement but aside from the fact that it was a bit like asking Hendrix or Clapton to fill the role, Mick said Keith wasn’t able to make a decision at the time and so the job was left unfulfilled.)

The second story is called ‘I hope I die before Celine Dion Does’ (about a guy who’s afraid if she dies first, all the airwaves will be filled with her dire ‘music’.

All 3 are good but the Stones one is the best.

    Any thoughts people?
