the no security album was from shows recorded in ’97 and ’98…the ’99 No Security Tour was dubbed that based on the live album they had just released….

there are a number of decent boot recordings circulating from the tour…some of them were recorded from those listening-assisted devices, which technically are line recordings, but they are almost all very shoddy.  best circulating live recordings are from the opener in Oakland and the subsequent two shows in Sacramento….or maybe i’m just partial to them as I attended those in addition to the tour closers in San Jose….

Gotta be the Oakland opener. First time I’d ever seen a tour opener. Was hoping they’d do Some Girls, cos we knew they had been rehearsing it at the SF Fillmore that week. And they did…one of my fave songs ever and they nailed it. Still the best version of that song they’ve done, for my money.  Also did a first-time Moonlight Mile and You Got the Silver. Was hoping for Confessin the Blues on the B-stage, as they had been rehearsing that too, but instead we got the safer blues choice, Just wanna make love to you.

All in all one of my fave shows to this day

    Greetings!
The following pictures were taken at the Rolling Stones concert in
San Jose, California, on April 20, 1999, as part of their “No Security” tour.

My wife, Mary, as we celebrate our 5th-row seats at the Stones concert.
As the old saying goes, “It doesn’t get any better than this!”.

Ron, Keith, and Charlie in action.

The Stones came down a ramp toward the center of the San Jose Arena,
where they played a few songs on a small stage in the center of the
room. They were so close to us that the auto-focus camera couldn’t
handle most of the pix I took as they walked past us. Consequently,
most of the “ramp” pix are blurry, except for this one of Ron Woods.

Charlie Watts coming down the ramp on his way to the main stage again.

Mick gets by us before the camera can focus on him.

one thing that is quite apparent:  Charlie needs to find a new anti-perspirant
