Cant talk now. Too upsetJanuary 11, 2016 at 4:20 am #33678OldSoulParticipant
Crushed me, for real. He was just behind The Stones, for me, in terms of favorites.

In light of this the recent lack of promotion makes sense but I’m literally grim…I haven’t felt this upset over a celebrity death in years

I cannot believe this. I am so, so very sad. This is going to take a while to sink in.
The world is a lesser place today. Such a loss.
Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real wellJanuary 11, 2016 at 5:56 am #33682Erik_SnowParticipant
So sad that Bowie’s gone. One of my absolute favourite artists ever since I was 10.
Had just ordered Blackstar, on Sunday evening after enjoying a downloaded version last week, and saw the news the next morning.January 11, 2016 at 6:23 am #33685CindyCParticipant
Erik, this is so upsetting. It just seems impossible. In my eyes he seemed more than human – as though he should somehow be immune to diseases. I know that’s silly but his music made him larger than life. Any way, I am thinking of you. I know you are a huge fan.

OMFG! This really is a shock… Oh David..what a pleasure it was knowing you and witnessing you doing all those fantastic things!
I posted this November 23 in the Bowie thread:
“Even today David with his new ten minute video of Blackstar is so relevant: it’s not of this earth… The influences you find in his work, like Brel & Brecht and the theatricality, his expressiveness and how he still celebrates mystery always was and still is a comfort.”
Now it will be more than a comfort. I’m not gonna say goodbye because you’ll never leave me.January 11, 2016 at 6:46 am #33687
Like all of you, I am saddened and in shock. I really cannot talk right now. I’m so very sad. God Bless David.

So weird to give a thumbs up now but you know what I mean..thanks for the link to the article.January 11, 2016 at 8:07 am #33690
I am not sure why but I had a feeling he knew it was close to the end.. Blackstar is closure on his work. He performed at peak level all the way to the end. Very sad. Will definitely be playing his music today. Heroes..January 11, 2016 at 8:35 am #33691
Yes Dreamer, I know exactly what you mean.

Now we know why he was being so private while working so hard. This is such a huge blow. Words fail me at the moment.January 11, 2016 at 9:17 am #33697shesarainbowParticipant
Really horribly sad. Waking up to this in disbelief just like when Jack Bruce passed away.January 11, 2016 at 9:58 am #33699UpgreyddParticipant
This is so sad. Just very recently I came across his set from live aid for the first time. He was amazing that day.
He’s the lead story on the local news this morning.January 11, 2016 at 10:19 am #33701andrew tParticipant
Hard to overstate what a seminal moment this show was for me growing up. I was 16.January 11, 2016 at 10:25 am #33703
