Thanks for the video KRH. Precious boys aren’t they? I bet they were quite a handful when they were really children. Pity their mothers. But they probably made their parents laugh a lot, let’s hope. 🙂
The older I get the more I appreciate the entertainment role of slap- sticks. And it can work just as well on girls as on guys. Well. Some Girls at least.

Right, KRiff. I’ve been put down here by one poster for using the name CE but I feel the way you do. Mick was really really really MICK when he was all loose and coked out. Your timelines are right for me as well. Mick ceased being MY Mick once the coke was gone. I hope people who are relatively new to the Stones can understand what we (and Bill Wyman) are talking about when we recall the loose and wobbly performances by this band. ~CE
I’m not saying anyone needs to do drugs to be a performer, and obviously Mick was great years before he took drugs. What i’m emphasising is his mental approach to music and performance altered out of recognition when Mick cleaned up his act and hit the gym. I think it also affected his creativity to write at the level he had previously. You know you can try to hard to be good sometimes, discipline is not conducive to creativity, i think Mick tries to be Mick, instead of realising he is Mick lol. [/quote]
Again, we agree KRiff. Exile is fueled by drugs by pretty much everyone concerned and look at it. A bloody masterpiece. The Stones never were “the perfect little boys” as that was left to the sweet Beatles. The Stones were The Stones, drugs and all. But in the 80’s something changed Mick (Jerry Hall) and he lost the ‘it’ thing that made him great – drugs, spontaneity, working with Keith, not judging Keith et al, dancing loosely, fooling around on stage, etc.
Were drugs necessary for all of that to happen? Suppose we’ll never know. Creativity and drugs do seem to go hand in hand but I also agree, it’s not something to foist on others. It just so happens that OUR Stones were all fueled by drugs in the (so-called) best years. They were never innocent babes in arms. Were they?

^^^^^^^^ Well yes and that’s what KRiff and I are talking about – the all sexed up and all coked out performances. It’s very difficult to not admit that Mick was at his best in the 70’s – mid-80’s. He regained a lot of that for Voodoo Lounge but he was never as sexed up/coked out as he was in ’72 and ’75 (at least that’s my experiences). He was very sexed up and not completely straight at Toronto’s RPM Club show. That was the one where he sang the wrong song to the wrong music. Purely CLASSIC!!
God this band has given me so much joy!!

Probably is the most enticing sentence I’ve read yet re. M.

^^^^^ Yes, we see a nice close-up shot of Mick sticking his tongue into Ronnie’s mouth, FAR INTO Ronnie’s mouth (French Kissing Ronnie) almost down Ronnie’s throat on SNL, 1978 during the musical interlude. I have the clip here somewhere but I don’t have time to find it and put here for you now. Maybe some kind soul will come to help OR you could Google ‘Saturday Night Live, October 1978 Rolling Stones with host Mayor Ed Koch.’ (Mick has influenza at that time as well!!)
Hope that helps. I’ll be back later and I’ll try to put the clip here.

Thanks CE & marianita for those pics. I’ll definitely watch that SNL on youtube.
EDIT/ I checked youtube. The clip with the entire show is unavailable unless I purchase it. The only thing on youtube is a very short clip that is for just those few seconds of M licking R’s mouth. Looks like R either pulled away or M just stopped after about 3-4 seconds of it. No open mouth by R however, but thanks, ya this is good.July 21, 2016 at 6:13 pm #50936

The Who guitarist Pete Townshend has once again revealed his lust for Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger.
In his upcoming autobiography ‘Who I Am,’ Townshend admitted that Jagger was the only man he’s ever, “seriously wanted to f**k.”
Additionally, Townshend described Jagger’s penis as, “long and plump” and insisted that the singer was, “very well endowed;” countering Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards mocking references to Jagger’s anatomy in his autobiography ‘Life.’
In a press conference earlier this year, Townshend also commented on Jagger’s genitalia, saying that, “I remember it as being huge and extremely tasty.”July 21, 2016 at 6:23 pm #50940

Try to see the entire October 1978 SNL show. From the “Show Me Tom” interview with Jagger, to the “Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger” skit to the live tunes – it’s an amazing show.
About the Ronnie & Mick kissing (in concert ALWAYS during IORR) Mick really does go at Ronnie as KRiff and I were saying. We’ve all seen it so many times it seems to blend together and I really can’t tell one year from the other many times. If you take time to research the Stones doing IORR on stage I’m certain you’ll find this hot kissing stuff you’re looking for. Bonne chance!!
