A fantastic acoustic/electric rocker. Bowie was listening and promptly poached the backup musicians to become the Spiders From Mars

A great rockin’ acoustic number from Humble Pie – Very Stonesy as well

Acoustic rock’n’soul?

Killer tunes!

So much fun to hear Ronno on that Michael Chapman track. Reminds me I must hunt down the documentary Beside Bowie …

>>Yeah. Trevor Bolder and Woody Woodmansey are on that one as well. Neat to hear Ronno with Elton John on the original take of Madman Across The Water as well.

Do you suppose that’s Marriott or Frampton on acoustic on “79th and Sunset”–or both?

>>Not sure. I think the drummer Jerry Shirley plays piano on that track. I reckon it’s Marriott on acoustic and Frampton playing lead.

And I assume the legendary Eddie Hazel is on acoustic on that Maggot Brain track?

Could be. Funkadelic had another guitarist at the time called Lucius “Tawl” Ross. It could also be him.
He’s seen jamming out with Eddie Hazel in this clip
